– Main fabric: 99% cotton / 1% carbon fiber, 350gsm with Modaflame FR finish. Some versions use 60% modacrylic / 40% cotton or 98% polyester / 2% carbon blends. The carbon fiber is anti-static.
– FR type: Inherent + treated blend. Modaflame is Portwest’s proprietary FR treatment — won’t wash out easily.
– Color: Hi-Vis black body with yellow contrast panels on cuffs, hem, collar, and chest pocket flap.
– Reflective tape: 2″ FR-rated silver reflective tape — double bands around torso and sleeves + shoulder patches. EN ISO 20471 Class 3 visibility.
– Hardware: Covered FR metal zippers + snap storm flap. No exposed plastic. FR Velcro on pockets/cuffs.
– Thread: Nomex FR thread on all seams.

1. Dual standard: This meets both European EN norms and US NFPA standards. Common on global job sites.
2. Use case: Utilities, petrochemical, welding, any site needing FR + hi-vis + anti-static + arc flash protection.
3. Not insulated: This is a shell jacket. For cold weather, layer over FR shirt/hoodie or get the quilted version MV40.
4. Care: Machine wash 60°C max. No bleach, no softener. Tumble dry low. Modaflame finish lasts ∼50 industrial washes.
