FR Enhanced Visibility Coverall

0.00

Material:
Main fabric: Usually 88% cotton / 12% nylon twill or 100% FR-treated cotton — 7oz to 9oz weight. Treated fabrics are most common for this price point.
Inherent FR option: Higher-end versions use 55% Modacrylic / 45% Cotton blends that won’t wash out.
Reflective tape: 2″ FR-rated hi-vis striping — silver + fluorescent yellow/green. Won’t melt or ignite. Segmented or solid depending on brand.
Hardware: Brass or concealed metal zipper with storm flap. No exposed plastic. Velcro closures are FR-rated hook & loop.
Thread: Nomex FR thread on all seams so they don’t split in flash fire.

Features:

Colorway: Light orange/Light red with yellow-silver reflective bands- Mandarin collar: Stand-up collar with throat closure — protects neck from flash
Front zip: Full-length covered zipper with snap storm flap
Chest pockets: Two chest pockets with Velcro flaps — likely for pens/radios
– Side pass-throughs: Hip slits for accessing pants underneath
Hi-vis striping: Double bands around chest/back, arms, and legs — Class 3 visibility when worn
Action back: Likely has pleated/bi-swing back for movement — standard on most FR coveralls
Leg hems: Straight leg, usually with adjustable snaps at ankle

Stuff:
1. Use case: Oil & gas, chemical plants, utilities. Green is popular in petrochem because it hides oil stains better than orange/navy.
2. Not fireproof: Gives 3-5 seconds to escape. Fabric chars instead of melting.
3. Care: No bleach, no softener, no starch. Wash separately in mild detergent. FR treatment on cotton versions lasts ∼50-75 industrial washes.
4. Layering: Must wear FR shirt + pants or FR base layers underneath. One non-FR layer ruins protection.
